New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll went through the team’s lengthy injury list on Tuesday. The biggest takeaway has to be that the Giants are hurting at inside linebacker.
Daboll said that starter Micah McFadden (groin), second-year player Dyontae Johnson (ankle), and veteran special teamer/linebacker Matthew Adams (groin) are all considered “week-to-week”.
With just a week left until rosters have to be trimmed to 53 for the regular season, that could mean linebacker will be a spot the Giants have to address via the waiver wire/free agency once cuts are made next Tuesday.
Perhaps the only good news at the linebacker spot is that Carter Coughlin will return to practice after missing a couple of weeks with a quad injury.
