There was an odd-looking play during the second quarter of the New York Giants’ preseason game against the New York Jets during which cornerback Eli Apple appeared to overrun a deep pass to Jet wide receiver Chad Hansen. The play went for a 20-yard gain. On Tuesday, Apple said that was the play on which he injured his left ankle.
“I had to adjust to it, and once I stopped, my foot kind of got stuck in the turf and bended a little bit weirdly inside,” Apple said. “So, it’s just a little sprain.
