Giants injury report, 9/4: Darius Slayton, Garrett Dickerson unlikely to play vs. Dallas Cowboys

The New York Giants will be without a couple of the young receivers who made their 53-man roster when the face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Coach Pat Shurmur said on Wednesday that wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) and tight end Garrett Dickerson (quad) “probably won’t make it” for the season opener.

Slayton, a fifth-round pick, has impressive during the spring but battled a hamstring injury throughout training camp. He played in only one preseason game.

Dickerson, a second-year tight end, apparently suffered his injury in Week 3 of the preseason.
