Giants’ injury news: Good news, bad news for wide receivers

The New York Giants had one positive development and one negative one on Sunday when it comes to their wide receiving corps. The bad new is the team announcing that Golden Tate has entered the concussion protocol. The good news is that Sterling Shepard practiced without a yellow non-contact jersey, the first time he has done that since fracturing his thumb during the first practice of training camp.

Shepard said the thumb “has actually healed up pretty fast” and he is “feeling good.” Head coach Pat Shurmur said Shepard’s ditching of the yellow jersey is “just the next step in the process.
