Giants host a pair of safeties for workouts

The New York Giants hosted a pair of safeties for workouts on Wednesday morning, according to Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com and USA Today. Raheem Layne, a 2022 UDFA out of Indiana, and Jonathan Sutherland, a 2023 UDFA out of Penn State.

Layne spent two seasons with the Chargers, playing 101 defensive snaps and 154 snaps on special teams. He tore his ACL in Week 6 last season.

Layne is a 5-foot-11, 192-pound safety who ran a 4.58 40-yard dash at his Pro Day with a 1.55 10-yard split. Layne is an undersized safety who started his college career as a cornerback.
