Giants hire Mike Shula as offensive coordinator and QB coach, source says

Mike Shula will fill the final two openings on the Giants’ coaching staff.

The veteran coach has been hired to act as both the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the 2018 season, a source confirmed to Newsday on Tuesday. The NFL Network was first to report the hiring. The Giants are expected to announce the addition – along with the rest of their staff – on Tuesday afternoon.

Because head coach Pat Shurmur will call the offensive plays, Shula will be able to pull his double duties. He may not have much familiarity with Shurmur, but he spent the past seven seasons with the Panthers, the last five as coordinator.
