Jason Pierre-Paul’s comeback bid is suddenly set on fast forward.
With the Giants desperate for something that even remotely resembles a pass rush, any thought of proceeding cautiously with Pierre-Paul and his badly mangled right hand appears to have gone right out the window.
Three days removed from his team’s 52-49 debacle in New Orleans, Tom Coughlin on Wednesday outlined an aggressive plan for Pierre-Paul that could have the veteran defensive end back on the field as soon as Sunday in Tampa against the Buccaneers.
That would be just four months after Pierre-Paul lost his right index finger and part of his right thumb in a July 4 fireworks accident in Florida.
