If the Giants had known Saints quarterback Drew Brees would pass for only 217 yards and no touchdowns, they would have signed up for that before Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium.
They also gladly would have settled for the four field goals the Saints kicked in the first half, when the Giants’ defense kept Brees and his high-powered offense out of the end zone.
The game plan was working, even though the Giants trailed 12-7 at halftime.
“We tackled well and we held them to three points almost every time,” safety Landon Collins said, “until the fourth quarter.
