EAST RUTHERFORD -- The Giants got their tight end Thursday, but in name only.
Yes, Evan Engram is one according to the roster. But the Ole Miss product will not exactly evoke memories of Mark Bavaro once he arrives to town. Engram is a new-age tight end, an undersized 6-foot-3, 234 pound playmaker that ran a 4.42 40-yard dash and, Giants brass sure made it sound like, is basically a wide receiver who may not block a soul.
Tight end was undoubtedly a need position for the Giants.
