In a very un-Giants move, the Giants have signed former pro-bowl safety Brandon Meriweather. Meriweather is an odd pick up for New York soley based on his trouble making past. Meriweather has been suspended 5 times for illegal hits on receivers. The Giants lack of safety depth, compounded by the loss of Mykkele Thompson for the season and Landon Collins for the next few weeks left the G-Men in desperation mode.
Meriweather has been a productive player over his career. A former first round pick of the New England Patriots in 2007, he has also spent time with the Chicago Bears and most recently the Washington Redskins.
