Giants finally get around to signing a veteran cornerback

The Giants allowed several defensive backs to leave via free agency without making much of an effort to re-sign them. They added one on Tuesday, signing veteran Josh Gordy to a one-year contract, presumably to add to their depth in the secondary.

Gordy, 28, has played five seasons in the NFL, one year apiece with the Packers and Rams and the past three with the Colts. He played in all 16 games in 2014, starting one. In 59 NFL games (11 starts), Gordy has five interceptions. He has lined up at safety, but primarily is a cornerback, and was the No.
