A 25-year-old man faces multiple charges for invading the field at MetLife Stadium Sunday night during the Giants’ 30-27 win over the 49ers.
Connecticut resident David Atwood – wearing a 49ers jersey – ran onto the field in the third quarter and delayed the game, trying to strike one of the policemen that had subdued him and apparently spitting at another. NJ.com reported he was charged and released to his mother, who attended the game with him, according to Meadowlands Station Commander Lieutenant Peter Velez.
Atwood bounded onto the field at the north end zone and ran toward the Big Blue sideline before being tackled by security.
