Giants fear JPP and injured hand could miss season: report

Giants owner John Mara was sort of kidding back in August, when he wondered aloud about how many fingers Jason Pierre-Paul still had. According to a report, Pierre-Paul may have even less than nine.

On Saturday, ESPN reported that Giants officials saw even more damage to Pierre-Paul’s right hand than the well-chronicled amputation of his right index finger. According to the story, Pierre-Paul, who severely injured his right hand in a Fourth of July fireworks accident, also was missing “a portion of one of the other fingers” on his right hand.

In addition to a fractured thumb and skin grafts, those injuries have some in the organization worried that Pierre-Paul will not be able to play this year, the report says.
