Leon Hall, the veteran cornerback with a long, strong history of play in the slot – but also some debilitating injury history – visited Tuesday with the Giants, who are on the lookout to strengthen their depth in the secondary.
Even after taking Eli Apple from Ohio State in the first round of last week’s NFL Draft, and with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Janoris Jenkins as the starters, the Giants would like more firepower at cornerback. General manager Jerry Reese, after selecting Apple, said: “When you have two corners in this league, you’re short one because the offensive teams throw the ball so much and you’ve got to have three quality corners to really go out there and function at a high level.
