Defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins suffered a torn left pectoral muscle in Sunday’s 32-18 win over the Bucs in Tampa, and he will he placed on Injured Reserve.
Coach Tom Coughlin announced the extent of Hankins’ injury Monday and lamented the loss of his leadership on the line.
“He will definitely be missed,” Coughlin said. “There’s no doubt.”

Hankins forced a fumble before going down with the injury at the start of the second quarter. He will leave the line just as Jason Pierre-Paul made his season debut.
