The Giants did not get the linebacker they were looking for in the first round of the NFL Draft, as Leonard Floyd of Georgia was scooped up with the ninth-overall pick by the Bears, who traded one spot ahead of the Giants to snatch him from their clutches.
It took until the fourth round for the Giants to add a linebacker. They drafted B.J. Goodson from Clemson with the 109th pick — a middle linebacker who will join a crowded group vying for playing time on a revamped defense.
Goodson, 6-foot-1 and 240 pounds, was a full-time starter for only his senior season for the Tigers.
