Taylor suffered a rib injury in the Giants' Week 8 loss to the . The injury came when he was running with the ball after catching his own deflected pass. Taylor's injury brought UDFA rookie Tommy DeVito onto the field, and he has started since Daniel Jones tore his ACL in Week 9.
Taylor himself was starting while Jones recovered from a neck injury suffered earlier in the year. He played well against the Buffalo Bills and Washington Commanders in relief of Jones, but was injured before he could put more than a small sample size on tape.
