When Justify tries to become a Triple Crown winner on Saturday at The Belmont Stakes, the New York Giants will have a small stake in the outcome. That’s because Senior Vice president of Player Personnel Chris Mara is a pat-owner of the horse.
Mara recently told Chris “Mad Dog” Russo on Sirius XM NFL Radio that he was “cautiously confident” about Justify’s chances.
“This is a great horse with a great trainer, a great jockey. He’s done nothing wrong so far, so it’s hard not to be confident,” Mara said.
As part of the family that has owned the Giants since the 1920s, Chris Mara has been part of sports history before.
