Our daily practice report from Giants training camp:
Something good
Saquon Barkley put on a show, catching four passes and flaunting his shiftiness. During 11-on-11 drills, Barkley made Ryan Connelly look silly on a fake toward the sidelines before cutting up the middle.
Something bad
Cornerback DeAndre Baker’s absence was noticeable. Losing the first-round pick for any period of time wouldn’t make things any easier for the Giants, especially considering Grant Haley and Sam Beal are still battling injury. Coach Pat Shurmur said that DeAndre Baker “felt something” in his knee during individual warm-ups and will have an MRI exam.
