The Giants resorted to reverse psychology Thursday, with offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan openly questioning the manhood of opponents who try to bait Odell Beckham Jr.
The normally mild-mannered Sullivan all but labeled defenders cowards for resorting to mind games with his star wide receiver in the wake of much-publicized sideline meltdowns by Beckham each of the past two games.
“The only reason a guy tries to get him off his game is because they’re not confident enough in their abilities,” Sullivan said. “They’re afraid to match-up against him 1-on-1, mano a mano.
“If that’s going to be the approach, you can put that when you’re ranking and say, ‘Obviously, the guy is not courageous enough or brave enough or man enough to go ahead and play it straight up,’ ’’ Sullivan added.
