Giants coach Pat Shurmur offered a hefty comparison for the tight end who will have to lead the charge in making up for the absence of Evan Engram, who is expected to be sidelined at least 3-4 weeks with a sprained MCL.
“I made the analogy, and this probably isn’t fair because I don’t know Mark Bavaro that well, but I sensed the same kind of aura when I met him the other night – just a tough guy that’s going to do what he’s asked and let the chips fall,” Shurmur said Wednesday of the All-Pro tight end who played for the Giants from 1985-1990.
