The Giants were without cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie for Sunday's game against the Broncos. The suspended All-Pro had played 75 percent of the snaps in the first five games of the season, leaving a sizable void in the defense.
The Giants replaced Rodgers-Cromartie with veteran Ross Cockrell and newcomer Donte Deayon. The Giants turned in their best defensive effort of the season in the 23-10 upset win.
Cockrell has been a regular part of the cornerback rotation since joining the Giants in a trade with the Steelers a week before the season opener.
