EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants starting cornerback Eli Apple isn’t practicing these days. He’s spending his afternoons riding a stationary bike and working on an underwater treadmill as he rehabs a sprained left ankle suffered Saturday night against the New York Jets.
It’s nothing that Apple seems overly concerned will keep him out of the season opener in 12 days. The Giants open against the division rival Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 10.
"I mean, I don’t think so," Apple said Tuesday about whether he might miss the season opener.
