EAST RUTHERFORD -- Giants cornerback Eli Apple finally addressed the play that has drawn intense scrutiny over the past three days.
The lowlight of the Giants' 51-17 loss to the Rams on Sunday was the 52-yard touchdown by wide receiver Robert Woods on a screen pass on third-and-33. Apple was the last line of defense of the play, but he didn't offer any resistance as Woods blew past him en route to the end zone.
Apple was blasted for an apparent lack of effort on the play, with former Pro Bowl safety Rodney Harrison claiming the 2016 first-round pick "flat-out quit" on NBC's Football Night in America.
