Giants bring back safety Craig Dahl, release Stevie Brown

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – For the second time in a week, the Giants have brought back one of their former safeties in an effort to strengthen the back of their defense.

The team announced today that it has signed Craig Dahl, a member of their Super Bowl XLII championship team in 2007 who most recently played for the San Francisco 49ers. Dahl becomes the first Giants defender who played for Steve Spagnuolo during the defensive coordinator’s first stint here (2007-08).

To make room for Dahl on the roster, the Giants released Stevie Brown, the safety they had re-acquired last Monday.
