Giants bolster pass rush with DE Olivier Vernon

Five things you need to know about new Giants Defensive End Olivier Vernon:

1. Originally a third-round selection (72nd overall) by the Miami Dolphins in the 2012 NFL Draft, defensive end Olivier Vernon has played in 64 games with 46 starts over his four seasons in the NFL.

His career totals include 196 tackles (43 tackles for loss), 74 quarterback hits, 29 sacks and three forced fumbles.

2. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 3 edge rusher in 2015, behind only Oakland’s Khalil Mack, who was the first player to be named first-team All-Pro at two positions in the same year, and Denver’s Von Miller, the reigning Super Bowl MVP.
