Giants begin search for depth at position that plagued them

The Giants are not yet finished with their offseason roster re-tooling. An aggressive first week of spending in free agency was followed by a calm. And now the Giants are scheduled to host cornerback free agent cornerback Jerraud Powers on Thursday, an NFL source confirmed.

Powers, who’s entering his eighth season in the NFL, started 13 games last season for the Cardinals and had one interception and 50 tackles. He’s started 82 games in his career. He was a third-round pick by the Colts in 2009 out of Auburn and spent the first four seasons of his career in Indianapolis.
