With Landon Collins in their past, the Giants will sign a safety from James Bettcher’s past.
The Giants and 34-year-old veteran Antoine Bethea agreed to a two-year deal Tuesday, according to former NFL star wide receiver Reggie Wayne, who played with Bethea on the Colts.
Bethea, the longtime defensive back, spent his last two seasons in Arizona, playing 2017 in a defense run by Bettcher, now the Giants’ defensive coordinator. Last year Bethea started every game, totaling 121 tackles, four passes defensed and three sacks as a free safety.
Before Arizona, Bethea’s 13-year career had tours in Indianapolis and San Francisco.
