Kenrick Ellis and Mike Harris became this year's cautionary tales for the Giants. Just because you make the initial 53-man roster . . .
Ellis and Harris were cut Sunday, less than 24 hours after being named to the team, to make room for two new additions acquired off waivers.
The Giants were awarded second-year defensive tackle Louis Nix III from the Texans and cornerback and kickoff returner Asa Jackson from the Ravens. Both were waived Saturday by their former teams.
Nix was a third-round pick of the Texans just last year. In fact, they traded up to get him with the 83rd overall selection in 2014.
