Two weeks after the Giants lost director of football operations Matt Harriss to the Detroit Lions, they have replaced him with an ex-Lion.
Former Detroit general manager Martin Mayhew was named the Giants' director of football operations/special projects on Thursday. Mayhew "will work closely with assistant general manager Kevin Abrams on all aspects of the salary cap, CBA compliance and player contract negotiations," according to a release, as well as "handle special projects as assigned by general manager Jerry Reese."
