EAST RUTHERFORD -- The Giants have added a defensive back in the wake of Valentino Blake's still-unexplained departure.
With Blake now on the exempt/left squad list, the Giants signed Tim Scott on Thursday. The North Carolina product was in Redskins camp earlier this summer before being waived.
Scott was not in the NFL last year. He spent time on the practice squad for the Browns and Cowboys in 2015. Dallas initially signed him as an undrafted free agent that year.
Scott started 45 of 50 games at North Carolina, finishing with 212 tackles, 25 pass defenses and eight interceptions.
