The Giants officially activated defensive end/linebacker Josh Mauro on Saturday, prior to Sunday's Week 5 showdown against the Carolina Panthers.
Mauro, suspended for the first four games of the regular season after violating the NFL's Performance Enhancing Drug policy, will give the defense a boost after outside linebacker Olivier Vernon was ruled out for the fifth consecutive game with a high-ankle sprain.
After returning to practice on Monday, Mauro said that he hoped to be able to fly around the ball and get after the quarterback whenever he returned to the lineup.
"Energy, just the mindset," Mauro said, when asked what he hoped to add to the defense.
