EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants very nearly squandered a golden opportunity, but some fourth-quarter magic from Eli Manning and Larry Donnell helped them escape with a 30-27 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night. The victory was the third straight for the 3-2 Giants and put them in sole possession of first place in the NFC East
A 2-yard run by Carlos Hyde had given the 49ers a 27-23 lead with 1:45 to play.
The Giants went into their final drive without Odell Beckham Jr. and Rueben Randle, who both left the game with fourth-quarter hamstring injuries.
