Jason Pierre-Paul will not be there when the Giants open training camp on Thursday, and the team has no idea when or if he will arrive. All the Giants know for sure is they are increasingly frustrated by his odd behavior.
“I want to be there for him,” said Tom Coughlin. “But he’s decided that he doesn’t want our help.”
Coughlin made that damning remark in an interview published Wednesday on Sports Illustrated’s Monday Morning Quarterback website, where he described the team’s efforts to reach out to JPP since the moment it learned about his July 4 fireworks accident.
