The New York Giants could be on the verge of bringing in reinforcements for their offensive line. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that veteran guard Greg Van Roten is visited the Giants on Monday.
Van Roten is a familiar face, at least for new offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo, who coached Van Roten last year with the Las Vegas Raiders. He started all 17 games last year for the Raiders and played 1,024 snaps at right guard last year. He comported himself well as a starter for the Raiders, giving up five sacks (tied for 9th most in the NFL), but was well regarded by Pro Football Focus with a 75.
