EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- In 700 days, a lot can change.
Half the 22 starters who were on the field for the New York Giants the night when wide receiver Victor Cruz tore the patellar tendon in his right knee are no longer on the team. Eight are no longer in the National Football League.
Eagles coach Chip Kelly visited Cruz in the hospital the following morning. And 700 days later, Kelly is barely allowed within Philadelphia’s city limits.
A lot can change.
It has for Cruz. He’s coming up on 30 and considered a seasoned veteran now as he prepares for his return.
