A Manhattan judge sent former New York Giants offensive lineman Luke Petitgout to jail for a month Friday for harassing his estranged wife and her date.
Petitgout, 39, allegedly punched Jennifer Petitgout, 38, and John Constantinides during the incident — but he was convicted only of harassment, a violation, and acquitted of attempted assault following a brief bench trial in Manhattan Criminal Court.
Judge Robert Mandelbaum said that because the pair was not injured during the incident, there was no proof the hulking defendant, who is 6-foot-6 and 270 pounds, assaulted them.
But Mandelbaum, moved by the Jennifer Petitgout’s testimony during the trial that her husband abused her “sexually, physically, mentally, emotionally,” tossed the lineman in jail for the non-criminal offense.
