One former New York Giants wide receiver is out of a job as of Monday — at least for now. Another one might also soon be out of work.
Sterling Shepard, fifth on the Giants’ all-time receptions list with 372 catches, was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday.
Shepard’s desire to play once again with his former college quarterback, Baker Mayfield, may still come to fruition. Ian Rapoport is reporting that Tampa Bay is “holding a practice (squad) for him.”
Shepard spent eight seasons with the Giants after being selected in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
