There are times when Christian Peter is sharing at an Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meeting when someone will recognize him from his days with the Giants.
“I know you,” they’ll say. “What’s your name again?”
He doesn’t mind the loss of anonymity, especially during the intimate gatherings of group therapy. It helps him do what he does now, which is put addicts on the road to recovery. Being remembered as a former defensive tackle for the Giants usually gets their attention.
