Lorenzo Freeman, a Camden native who starred at the city's Woodrow Wilson High before going on to play at the University of Pittsburgh and later for the Giants, was found dead Monday.
Freeman, 52, was found at his New Kensington, Pa., home Monday after he failed to report to work, according to The Associated Press. Freeman was working as an assistant football coach at Plum High near Pittsburgh, and had previously worked with other western Pennsylvania high school teams, according to The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Freeman, a defensive lineman, played for the Steelers from 1987-90. He then joined the Giants for the 1991 season before retiring.
