NEW YORK -- Former New York Giants player Luke Petitgout will serve 30 days in jail after being convicted of harassing his estranged wife and her date.
The 39-year-old was sentenced Friday after being convicted of a harassment charge in Manhattan Criminal Court. Petitgout was found not guilty of misdemeanor assault.
Authorities alleged Petitgout punched his estranged wife and her date during an altercation at a Manhattan cocktail lounge in June 2014.
The Daily News of New York reports that Petitgout's attorney said his client didn't throw any punches.
In addition to the jail sentence, a judge ordered Petitgout to complete 26 weeks of a batterer's counseling program.
