WEST ORANGE -- Former Giants lineman David Diehl has a good problem with his annual charity golf tournament.
The 2017 Clara Maass Medical Center Golf Invitational, held Monday at Montclair Golf Club, was sold out weeks in advance. The 240-player event was expected to raise just over $300,000, the most in the event's history, to support patient services and programs, including pediatrics, at RWJBarnabas Health's Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville.
Diehl, who won a pair of Super Bowls with the Giants and now does broadcast work with the team, has worked with RWJBarnabas Health for five years now, and hosted the golf event for the last three.
