New York Giants tight end Evan Engram, placed on IR this week as a lingering foot injury failed to heal the w3ay it was hoped, will undergo surgery on Friday morning.
Engram told reporters on Wednesday that Dr. Robert Anderson will perform the surgery with the hope of “putting stability back in my foot.”
Up until now, the injury had been termed a mid-foot sprain. Wednesday, Engram elaborated.
“It’s not a full Lisfranc injury, but the ligament is still not healed correctly,” he said. “There’s a little bit of space so they are going to put, from my knowledge, joints back to together to let that ligament heal properly and kind of stabilize the joints so the ligament is not stretched.
