DETROIT — There was one particularly bad moment Friday night for Giants right tackle Ereck Flowers in a 30-17 preseason win over the Lions.
Flowers was badly beaten off the snap in the first quarter by Devon Kennard, the former Giants linebacker signed in free agency by the Lions. Kennard practiced for four years with Flowers and knew how to exploit him on a first-down pass rush, with Kennard cleanly beating Flowers and Ricky Jean Francois pushing past right guard Patrick Omameh for a sack.
Giants QB Davis Webb was hit by Jean Francois as he threw the ball on a play that originally was called a fumble recovered by the Lions and reversed to an incomplete pass.
