SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- If you listed all 31 fourth-quarter comebacks of Eli Manning's regular-season and postsesason career in terms of big-picture significance, Monday's would rank at or near the bottom.
Manning's game-winning 75-yard drive lifted the Giants from one win to two wins. It actually might have been more apropos in a season finale or in front of the home fans as a way to say goodbye -- like a Derek Jeter walk-off single after the Yankees were eliminated from playoff contention.
But the Giants didn't want to hear any of that after earning a 27-23 win against the 49ers.
