BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Now that the new regime of Dave Gettleman and Pat Shurmur has endorsed him as the Giants quarterback in 2018, the next step in Eli Manning’s attempt to keep firm grasp of his starting job is this: How does he withstand the addition of a Josh Rosen or Sam Darnold with the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft?
That could be the greatest challenge of his career.
“Hey, the Giants, it’s always, it’s about, they got to draft, you know, whether it’s the future or for now, they got to figure out how to put the best players on the field,’’ Manning said Friday.
