Eli Manning a runner-up for an award that has no losers

SAN FRANCISCO — As one of the three finalists for the 2015 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, Eli Manning said earlier in the week that there were no losers, only winners, in this competition with 49ers receiver Anquan Boldin and Saints tight end Benjamin Watson. The award went to Boldin during the NFL Honors ceremony on Saturday night.

No Giants player ever has won the award, given to the player who displays excellence on and off the field and makes a positive impact on his community. Eli’s older brother, Peyton, won the award in 2005.
