FOXBOROUGH - Leave it to the Giants to find a way to ruin the Patriots' day. At least a little bit.
On Thursday night at Gillette Stadium, on the same day that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had his DeflateGate suspension lifted by Judge Richard Berman, it was the Giants who won the ugly, pointless preseason finale, 12-9.
It was hardly a meaningful win, a game in which both teams played primarily their backups. Brady didn't even warm up, and the Patriots began the game with third-stringer Ryan Lindley. Giants coach Tom Coughlin, meanwhile, gave Eli Manning the night off, starting third-year man Ryan Nassib.
