ALLEN PARK, Mich. — If it is not how you start but how you finish that is most important, Eli Apple had a good day Wednesday as the Giants and Lions went through a second joint practice.

Apple gave up a touchdown reception to rookie Chris Lacy early in the session and later, in the two-minute drill, Apple deflected away a pass intended for Kenny Golladay and reacted by waving his arms, the classic “incomplete” gesture. A yellow flag was tossed, though, indicating Apple was called for pass interference.
