The Giants' defense against the run ranked 30th in the league in 2014. With that said, there is certainly enough new talent to improve in 2015. What is the key to stopping the run? Dear Larry: A good run defense is stout up the middle. In Johnathan Hankins and Cullen Jenkins, the Giants have a strong par of run-stopping defensive tackles. They also have a tackling machine in middle linebacker Jon Beason. If he can stay healthy, those three players will be the keys to the Giants’ improving their run defense. And don’t forget, the defense will employ new schemes this season under new coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
